In 1971, the First Missionary Baptist Church of Haines City called Mickey Carter to be its new pastor. In 1979, the name of the church was changed to Landmark Baptist Church. Proverbs 22:28 says, "Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set."

Dr. Carter has led the Landmark Baptist Church for 35 eventful years. The church has grown to an average attendance of more than 1,500, with a "winter season" crowd of more than 1,900. God has given the church numerous ministries over the years. Among these ministries is the church's very own radio station, WLVF, Gospel 90.3 FM. The Landmark Hour with Pastor Carter is aired through this radio ministry. Listeners have the opportunity to hear Pastor Mickey Carter and be blessed by his solid, Spirit-filled sermons each and every day of the week.

The Legal Alert with David Gibbs Jr.

The Christian Law Association is a "ministry of legal helps." It has served Bible-believing churches and Christians since 1969. Its purpose continues to be to provide legal assistance to Bible-believing churches and Christians who are experiencing legal difficulty in practicing their religious faith because of governmental regulation, intrusion, or prohibition of one form or another. The Legal Alert, a ministry of CLA, is played daily on Gospel 90.3. The Legal Alert gives listeners daily updates concerning what is occurring in the areas of Christian law and defense. Through the Legal Alert, listeners receive insight and understanding about our government and the direction in which it is headed. Dr. Shelton Smith was born on December 4, 1942, and was saved September 1951. He began preaching on January 6, 1957. He was a pastor for 34 years, pastoring in Tennessee and California before going to the Church of the Open Door (independent Baptist) in Westminster, Maryland where he was pastor for 17 years. He led the Church of the Open Door to grow from fewer than 200 per Sunday to an average exceeding 1,500 per Sunday and more than 3,000 members with high days exceeding 2,000 several times a year. Hundreds were saved and baptized each year. Dr. Smith is married to Betty Elaine Womble Smith, and they have two children, Davina and Marlon, and six wonderful grandchildren.  Dr. Shelton Smith currently serves as President and Editor of The Sword of the Lord Publishers.

The Kid's Corner

Heard every Saturday morning, the Kid's Corner is a program designed especially for kids, but also the "kids at heart."
